Touchstone Health Services (THS) is excited to announce a recent expansion of its programs and services to now include Behavior Analytic Services. This new division will serve our current families. This expansion will allow THS to provide additional, specialized services to more families in need throughout Maricopa County.
These programs provide evidenced-based assessment and treatment grounded in the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Specifically, our expertise will focus on individuals with developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)who display skill deficits and/or problem behaviors.
The Behavior Analytic Services division will be split into four parts all working simultaneously together. These programs include our current Family-Centered Autism Program, The Autism Center of Excellence, Complex Behavior, and the Language and Learning Center.
The Family-Centered Autism Program (FCAP) has been a part of Touchstone’s programs and services since 2009. FCAP provides integrated and comprehensive treatment services, in the natural environment, to children, and their families affected by ASD and other developmental disabilities. The goal of FCAP is improving the lives of both children with autism and their family members. This goal is achieved by focusing on functional skills with the use of evidenced-based behavior analytic procedures such as pivotal response training and positive reinforcement.
Touchstone’s Autism Center of Excellence in partnership with Mercy Care Plan and Mercy Maricopa Integrated Care works together to ensure that children, youth, and adults with ASD have the opportunity to use the Center of Excellence as their behavioral and physical health provider. Touchstone will provide a specialized whole-health approach that focuses on the physical and behavioral health of children, families, and adults living with or at risk of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The Center of Excellence provides training, specialized care coordination and access to evidenced-based intervention and treatment while aligning with the Arizona Vision, the Arizona Twelve Principles, the guiding Principles for Recover-Oriented Adult Behavioral Health Services and Systems, Patient Centered Medical Home Principles, and best practices for ASD according to the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Evidenced-based intervention and treatment will be provided through the Complex Behavior programs and our new Language & Learning Center (LLC). The LLC will address expressive and receptive language. The Complex Behavior Program will focus on the assessment and treatment of problematic behaviors that serve as a barrier to safety, independence, and success. Both the LLC and Complex Behavior Programs are grounded in Behavior Analysis, the scientific study of the principles of learning and behavior.
Touchstone’s Behavior Analytic Services division will be based out of our North Phoenix Center located at 3602 E. Greenway Rd., Suite 102, Phoenix, AZ 85032 (36th Street & Greenway Road). All of our centers will be integrated to be able to provide any and all services from any of Touchstone’s locations and within the community.
