Touchstone Health Services is proud to announce the expansion of our services from our Tucson Center.

Prior to our expansion, Touchstone has been providing Multisystemic Therapy (MST) in Tucson for over 10 years. As of March 2016, the Tucson component opened the MST adaptation, Multisystemic Therapy for Problem Sexual Behaviors (MST-PSB).ย  This program has had an exciting start in Tucson and offers the community an intensive home-and-community-based approach to treating youth with problem sexual behaviors.

In late 2016 Touchstone announced plans to continue our expansion in Tucson, with adding a long-awaited Functional Family Therapy

[FFT] team.ย  We are currently in the process of hiring and training for this model. Each of these programs is considered Blueprints Program Model. These programs are family, school, and community-based and target all levels of need.

FFT is an evidenced-based family therapy program designed for youth from ages 11 through 17 that have behavioral and conduct problems. FFT engages the family to change through multiple interventions which include a relational and strength based focus. The cognitive and behavioral component is integrated into systemic skill training in family communications, parenting and conflict management skills. Our service delivery takes place in the home or community. Some of our FFT therapists are Spanish speaking and language assistance is provided if necessary.

Our MST program is an intensive evidence-based family therapy program that has been proven effective in treating youth with serious acting out behaviors from ages 11 through 17. MST helps empower parents with skills and resources needed to independently address the challenging behaviors of the youth.ย  MST views individuals as part of a complex network that includes the family and community. MST strives to promote behavior change in the youthโ€™s natural environment using the strengths of each system. Our service delivery takes place in the home or community.ย  Some of our MST therapists are Spanish speaking and language assistance is provided if necessary.

MST-PSB is clinically adapted from the MST model to address youth from ages 10 through 17 who have problematic sexual behaviors. MST-PSB relies heavily on family therapy as a mechanism of change for the youth and family and draws on models of parent training, Structural and Strategic Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and social skills building. Ensuring that client, victim, and community safety is the paramount mission of the model.ย  Service delivery takes place in the home or community. Some of our MST-PSB therapists are Spanish speaking and language assistance is provided if necessary.

Current capacity for these programs in Tucson (prior to expansion):

  • Multisystemic Therapy for Problem Sexual Behaviors: 10 Clients

Our goal with this current expansion is to hire 6 FFT Therapists, and 1 new MST Therapist. This also includes one MST Program Manager and one FFT Program Manager. Once the expansion is fully implemented, our capacity for each program will be as follows:

  • Functional Family Therapy: 72 Clients
  • Multisystemic Therapy: 20 Clients
  • Multisystemic Therapy for Problem Sexual Behaviors: 15 Clients

We look forward to continuing our growth in Southern Arizona.
